Actually in continuation of my project,I came across capacitors and looked more deeply for their various kinds. Can somebody tell me where to use polarised and non-pol cap?
Also the advantage of using electrolytic cap.

You can use a polarized capacitor when one side is always at a higher potential then the other. Connect the + lead to the side that is higher. Otherwise, use a non-polarized capacitor. Exception: if there is only a few millivolts max across the capacitor, a polarized one is okay.

Polarised capacitors generally have a higher capacitance for a given size. You use them when you want a high capacitance in a small package. If we could make non-polarised capacitors of equivalent capacity, voltage rating, etc., in the same size package, polarised capacitors would probably disappear almost overnight.
