I want to separate out die size variable from package theta ja. What i mean is, if i have the same package with theta_ja of 65 degC/w but i have 2 die sizes which can go into this package, 1st one is 2 mm2 area and 2nd is 3mm2. Both dies have power dissipation of 1W, so based on Theta_ja i would get the same temp. rise from both but isn't that wrong since 2nd die is larger and therefore its temp. will not rise as much as the 1st.

    thanks

If all you have now is a j-a number then you'll need to find a "normal" value for j-c.
I'd expect a bigger die to have a lower j-c number just because of its larger area, but j-c is very small compared to j-a in this case so it won't matter much here.
