I recently bought a Dick Smith oscilloscope, please see attached link, or
    search for Item number: 3807992995.

This scope does not have a manual and I am unable to find any reference to
it on the internet. It's obviously an older scope sold by Dick Smith and it
may be a HungChang 20MHz built for Dick Smith.

I would much appreciate any information that could be provided especially
where I could find a manual. If anyone has a manual, I will gladly paypal
you for the photocopying and the postage.

    Thanks in advance,
    Best Regards,

I forgot to mention that the model number is Dick Smith Q-1240.

and that is the eBay link if it didn't come across.

    Hi Phil,

Why dont you call Dick Smith Electronics head office and speak to the spare
parts department. I'd be fairly sure that they'll have either an original
    or photocopy available.

    The main number is (02) 9642 9100.

    Thanks for responding.

Actually, I've sent email to both Australia and New Zeland's service
departments asking for help on this. Both were kind enough to reply, the
service folks in Australia showed it around several of their departments and
couldn't find anyone who had heard of it. I starting to think it might be a
hundred or more years old :) At least I only paid $36 American for it. It
hasn't arrived yet, so I don't really know is condition or complete

I sent an email to "David L.Jones" and he kindly replied saying "
    Hi Phil,
That is a spitting image of the (in)famous HungChang 20MHz scope. It is
probably the most re-badged scope in history! (it's an OK scope though!)
Sorry, can't remember off my head the exact HungChang model number or the
other brands it was re-badged under."

In anycase, though I'm a beginner, I'm sure it won't be too hard to figure

    Hi Phil,

I've got a friend who has a scope he bought from DSE years ago. I'll check
with him and see if it's the same model.
