for this?

Use smoke detectors in the same manner as any other occupied room. If there
is a raised floor you may want to install additional smokes below the floor.
I would also specify moisture sensors below the floor, especially below the
HVAC system's condensate pan if there's a dedicated unit in the room as
these can and do occasionally overflow.

There are other services you may want to offer to clients with server rooms.
You can monitor the UPS system for primary power failure, brownout, backup
power condition, etc. If they have an auto-start generator, offer to
monitor it to make certain the "exercise clock" fires up the genset once a
week. There are usually a dry contact (relay) outputs on the HVAC system
for system trouble, low temperature, high temperature, manual bypass, etc.
Better quality UPS systems and gensets will have outputs for system status,
trouble, etc., as well.

If you're already monitoring the office for burg and/or fire alarm it's a
snap to add on environmental monitoring. You can make a few extra dollars
per month per account or just use it as a selling feature to clinch the sale
for a commercial security system. Years ago I was asked to install and
monitor moisture detectors for Stanley Works' computer center in New
Britain, CT. While I was there I sold them on having us monitor for fire,
flood, humidity, temperature, backup power, battery condition, etc. For a
few extra dollars a month they got backup monitoring (their existing system
also monitored the same things but with on-premises notification only) of
quite a few million dollars worth of hardware and data of incalculable
value.

Thanks for the replies, both of you, I will check them out. I know
they are for sure interested in a temp control which I have installed
before. Some of the other stuff wont work here or at least is not
applicable in this application (eg Generator).

Thanks for the suggestions though. Ill look at them closer tomorrow
(4.30am right now)
