Is NU-Skin the same as collodion?

cleaning it seems fixed, but 24 hours later it's tacky again. It's getting
better, but I've never seen an adhesive that was this stubborn, and appears
to be removed when it is not. It was some kind of military sticker, if that

I used to use Formby's "furniture Cleaner", but I can't find it

Another possibility would be to use white glue then cover with a band
aid to keep the dried glue on.
The glue also this works well for removing cactus spines (the small
ones you cannot see well) just put the glue on the area where the
spines are let dry and peal off. Repeat if a few spines remain

Us desert rats use depilatory wax to remove cactus spines. Apply, let
harden, peel off with all the fine spines.

Then there's the case where one of my dogs tried to get a bug from
between the needles of a barrel cactus. The kind of needle with a
curved end like a hook. My wife had to hold the dog still while I
slid his tongue around the hook and got him loose ;-)

I bet that was a lot of fun! :)

Owwwwwww!!

Dogs are dumb. Why do they do that?

Waalll. It's not adhesive, it's the pouch's vinyl material redissolving in
the stuff that was originally put on. In other words, the only way you can
stop it is to remove the rest of the vinyl down to the cloth backing.

Well, just a couple of days ago, a cow-orker showed me some transparent
duct tape. I pooh-poohed the idea, even though I could see that it was
transparent; after all, who's ever heard of such a thing? But I checked
the roll itself, and it _did_ say "transparent duct tape." How 'bout
that! :)

As far as that, I've used "adhesive tape" - the white stuff you get at
the pharmacy to make big bandages with gauze and stuff. The one major
wart (a plantar wart right in the middle of the sole of my heel, but,
oddly, painless) kinda looked like it was getting weak, but within
a day or so about 8 little wartlets had started to spring up. I took
the tape off, daddy wart came back, and the little babies went away.

One time when I was in my early pre-teens, I ripped a wart out by the
roots. Seriously - I used a clipper and tiny scissors to cut away
as much as I could, and it had like a core, which I pulled out
with long-nosed pliers. Hurt like a bastard, but it was kind a "good"
hurt, coz Mr. Wart had left the Foot. And it didn't hurt for long, but
it bled profusely, to the degree that I thought it'd never stop. The
blood was just running out of the hole, not like when you nick your
thumb in the kitchen - it was like someone (Moi?) had bored a 1/8" (3mm)
hole right into my bloodstream. But it eventually healed. Now I have a
new one but I'm too old to start using hand tools on the sole of my
foot! (i.e. I don't bend that way any more )-; )

Cheers!

Time to step up to power tools? ;-)

I walked into a freinds two way radio shop one day to see him with a
sanding disk in a power drill, grinding a callus off his foot. I had
seen him pull some other stupid stunts, but after that I didn't let him
near any of my tools.

Maybe if you let it lie in the sun for a few hours, or a day, depending.
What's happened is one (or more) of the componenets of the adhesive got
mixed with one (or more) of your cleaning nostrums, soaked into the
vinyl, and is acting as a plasticizer. It will probably take as long to
leach out of the plastic as however long the sticker was actually on it.
)-;

Let us know if you have any luck, either way!

I heard that the virus that causes warts (especially plantar warts on
the soles of the feet) cannot stand much heat, and soaking the wart in
very hot water for a half hour or so a night will get rid of it in
about a week. No need to soak your whole foot, just dip the spot with
the wart in water as hot as you can stand.

I haven't had a need to try this, but it comes highly recommended by a
friend who used it.

Hi Mark,

The sticky stuff that exudes from vinyl pouches, etc is called
plasticizer. It is the gorp that makes the PVC plastic they use
to make the pouch all soft and cuddly. Were it not for the plasticizer,
the pouch would be hard and brittle like a piece of PVC tubing.

Well, the plasticizer starts to leak out from the day the plastic
is new, and only gets worse. As it disappears from the inside of the
vinyl, the vinyl starts to get brittle and crack.

To get it off, you need something that will dissolve it. Not much
will. Lacquer thinner does a fair job, the clear cleaner/primer used
in the gluing process for PVC pipes wipes it away easily, but will also
attack the vinyl....primer is also not real good for you... but plumbers
are saturated in the stuff all the time.

Rich, you give a new meaning to the term "Rip it out by the roots?"

HPV human papilloma virus is what causes plantar warts and a whole
lotta other problems. Here's a really interesting reading about it.

Well, the virus is inside of the cells of your body, so it stands to
reason that if the heat is bad for the virus it will also be bad for
the rest of the cell.

Something like 30 percent have good results with a placebo, so that
may be the reason for your friend's success. See URL for more info.

I was reading this info and other, and I saw that the laser was one
method of treatment. Basically just burn the wart away, which may
leave some scarring. On thing that no one has brought up is treatment
using a soldering iron. If heat can get rid of it, why not just use a
small tipped soldering iron to heat it? Might be very painful!

It's a solvent perhaps- probably the "plasticizer" from something it was in
contact with. Ever use a rubber grommet in a plastic project box? After a
while, the plastic box dissolves and the grommet gets stiff. Same concept.
Also, for the newbies- never store those rubber grommets in your clear
polystyrene plastic parts drawers- they too will melt into goo after a few
months. Once that starts, there is no way back.

Cheers!

Cauterizing used to be the standard for some types of warts... That is
until the doctors doing the cauterizing started to get the warts in
their sinuses. The virus isn't really alive, and the virus compounds
get vaporized when you burn the flesh. If they happen to land in a good
spot...
