Hi, I recently got this Dell 14" monitor from my cousin who was
throwing it away. He told me that when it got warm after 15 mins image
will get very bright, almost white and image will be blurry. I tought
it could be an easy fix, so I kept it. In fact, when it got warm,
image got bright and blurry. I adjusted the brightness and focus and
got rid of the problem. Image is very crisp and fine, colors are
excellent, BUT after around 2 hours of usage the image will slowly
start to get blurry again, so I have to go and adjust the focus again.
May flyback be at fault ?
    Any suggestions ??
    Thanks a lot.

This is usual caused by the HV module. If it is part of the flyback, then
the flyback must be changed. If it is separate, then it is changed as a
separate module. Your problem would be to find parts for this monitor.

It is also possible that there may be caps or some other types of components
going leaky (resistive or opened) in the focus and screen bias supply to the
CRT. This would most likely be on some of the outputs of the HV multiplier
to the CRT. If this is the case, these components may be temperature
    sensitive.

Most of the time when I had this type of fault, it was the HV module.

Could be the FBT. Post the Model Number and or FCC ID of the Dell, and if
there is a White Sticker on the Flyback itself, post that info too, and I
can tell you if its readily available.

Forgot, do you think would be a good idea to replace any electrolytic
caps in the way or may I check on something else?
    THanks a lot.
