I am starting a 120 v fan using a temp controller. Fan goes on and off based on the setting of the controller. Here's where I need help. I have two other smaller 120 v circulating fans that I want to stay on for x amount of time after the main fan shuts down. I have a Dayton Off delayed timer and a solid state relay hooked up to the smaller fans. The hooking up the delayed timer is not the issue. It is the switch part of the delay timer where I am struggling. I bought an SSR thinking I could apply power to the relay when the main fan comes on and use the load side hooked up to the switch part of the Delayed timer. When the relayed fired it would close the circuit on the load side. When power was removed it would open the circuit and the countdown would begin keeping the smaller fans running for a preset time. Seems the load part of the relay actually needs current to complete to circuit. Correct? Wondering what options I have act as a switch for the delayed timer?
