If you read the instructions, they're not going to ship you the equipment.
You'll be contacted by an installer who will *install* the equipment for
you. You'll also have to pay the monitoring fee (which is pretty high IMO
considering it's in US dollars and we charge $15.00 CDN) and sign a three
year contract. Looks like they'll refund your money ($9.95) as well but I
think that only applies if you don't qualify.

I will hang my hat on the first sentence, which I quote here:

"You are bidding on over $1250 worth of BRAND NEW never been used
    equiptment."

  4. Not bad, I wish I could markup equipment 500%

Anyone that contemplates bidding on this item without reading all the
details is liable to be disappointed through no fault of the seller. I
don't think you can "hang your hat" on just one line, but feel free to
    try...

I really like their "low" monthly monitoring fee.

Here is the sellers official stand:

    You asked:
"What is it exactly that I'm bidding on in this auction. Please give me a
    plain english answer."

If you read the description it tells you exactly. You are bidding to get a
1250 of product for free, a montly monitoring rate of 33.99 for two way
voice and free instalation fee. Usually if you were to get a system from ATD
you would have to pay upfront for your product, pay a minimum of 46.99 for
two way voice and a 99to125$ installation fee. You are bidding to an entire
system for 9.99 get the installation fee waived and get a very low monthly
    monitoring fee.

I am going to have to bid on it now just to screw with these people. And
who is ATD? Sound like Hayes modem commands.

I must have scared her. She just added this to the auction:

On Apr-22-05 at 12:47:42 PDT, seller added the following information:

YOU ARE BIDDING ON A COMPLETE SYSTEM, MONITORING FEE OF 33.99 FOR A 3 YEAR
CONTRACT AND ALL THE EQUIPMENT. THIS INCLUDEDS EVERYTHING LISTED ABOVE.
Usually you have to pay for the system up front and then a high montly fee
as well as installation fees. AGAIN YOU ARE BIDDING ON THE ENTIRE PACKAGE.
You will speak with me when the auction is complete we will set up a date to
have the system installed in your home. You will not be chared the $99
activation fee. You will get to choose from door and window sensors motion
detectors smoke detectors ect. Each product has a point value motion
detector 2 points, door and window 1 point each you will get 6 POINTS FREE
when the technition comes to your home they will help decided what is right
for you. YOU ARE BIDDING ON A MONTHLY MONITORING FEE OF 33.99 a month. ADT
charges 46.99 for two way voice so you will not be able to find price
anywhere. PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS.....DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU
ARE SERIOUS ABOUT GETTING AN ALARM INSTALLED IN YOUR HOME FOR AN AMAZING
    VALUE!

Now, as I read it, I get 3 whole years of monitoring for just $33.99. That
is less than one dollar per month. Excellent!!!

  9. I really like their "low" monthly monitoring fee.

You mean the one that is mandatory with "all alarm companies?" :^)

  10. Pretty high.

  11. It is?
I'll do a local system if the price is right...doing one tomorrow infact.
Someday they (or whomever buys the house next) will want monitoring..and I don't mind waiting.

Well it does help to read the page, I'd say it's clearly explained what you
    are bidding on

  15. yeah but then we'd have to give away "free" alarms too.
1250 bucks for an iti with 1pir and 2 xmitters...sheesh.
the systems i put in must be worth 9000 bucks then.
