My problem started with a crackle on the headphone output, on a unit I had used successfully for years. A few weeks later the unit would power up, but would intermittently have no info on the lit LCD, requiring a restart. Eventually it would not restart either.

After having to cut the screws off the bottom plate, (these were seized solid), I found burning on the Molex plug on the power supply PCB, which feeds the harness to the main PCB. It had the usual charred look and was fairly easy to spot. Removing the pin from the plug housing and carefully rubbing it with emery, reassembly and resoldering the socket on the PCB appears to have cured this.

If mine went that way, I doubt it was the only one, and perhaps even at this late date this info may help someone restore their EZbus.
