If I was to be amplifying a 12V current to 120V using a transformer, and that transformer was then generating a DC current, if I was to send that current to an appliance with an AC to DC converter, what would happen?

You risk blowing the device (very likely) that converts your rectified 120VAC to around 140VDC...

Now the AC > DC part, well if it used a Transformer, the transformer would short and over heat.

if it was using a Switch Mode Power Supply, I'm not entirely sure what would happen as the first thing it does is covert AC to DC...
