I am trying to drive a relay with my motorcycles "soft-on/off" headlamp circuit, this is causing the relay to chatter when going on and off. I am thinking it is a sawtooth 12 Volt pulse, which I measured at 50 HZ on my frequency scale on my multimeter. I am thinking with the right Capacitor I should be able filter the ripple for the 2 seconds that the output is ramping up. this system works by suppling 12V+ to the bulb common and varying the ground potential to the high and low beam filaments.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I figure it's a PWM (square waves) ramping up/down. If that's the case then simply adding a capacitor should help. Diode is optional (might not be neccessary).
The neccessary capacitance may have to be determined experimentally. Too small and it'll still chatter, too big and the relay will hang on for too long.
Beware of vibrations that could fatigue and break the legs off the capacitor. Fix its body to prevent it from flexing.
