I was just looking for the old National Semiconductor AN-140. This was once found all over the place -- so much so that I had neglected to download and save a copy.

Over time it had moved to the Fairchild site, and although that was subsumed into OnSemi the old links worked.

No Longer... And only one apparently reliable link could be found in google -- and it leads to this fairly useless page.

It took ages to find, but it's here now.

So, if you're looking for an old link of the form you will need to change it to

And yes. That's two ".pdf"s on the end!

"Grrrr" is right-- and it's not just NatSemi but Linear Technology as well, ever since their acquisition by Analog Devices. All the excellent, old application notes are getting hard to find.

At one time I was considering abandoning my long-time habit of downloading data sheets and app notes to my computer, because everything seemed so easy to find on the Internet. But no more.
