    The following is part of the datasheet of k3296 osfet

    what the meaning of PT1 and PT2 and why that big difference (1.5 and 40 watt)

    PT1 - without a heatsink

    PT2 - with a heatsink.

    Pt1 is the total allowed power dissipation without a heat sink at an ambient temperature of 25°C.
    Pt2 is the total allowed power dissipation when the device is attached to a heat sink that is large enough to keep the temperature of the case at 25°C.
