    Cheers from Penn's woods,

In this AM transmitter circuit what is the transistor actually doing?

I think the emitter sucks up the electrons from the antenna leaving a positive field around the antenna
until electrons ascend up the antenna as ball lightning.

That's my theory and I an sticking to it! ;)

Beware of analog circuits from a computer engineer in India.
The circuits Gallery website even has a door intercom with only one amplifier!
Two paralleled mics and two paralleled speakers. You talk and your voice is heard at the outside door and severe acoustical feedback howling at your speaker. There is also severe acoustical feedback howling at the outside door speaker. Wonderful idea.

Here is their FM transmitter with the value of the emitter resistor one thousand times too high:

Not a damn thing, other than taking up space.

I'd be a bit leery of the digital circuits, as well.
