I have DAB radio receiver, It picks up DAB and transmits an FM signal which can be picked up with any FM radio, this is a device which runs on a 5 volt mini use supply. I obtained a powered aerial and I believe a fault of some description caused the problem when I attempted to set it up. Can a higher than required voltage through an aerial socket cause some damage? The unit was dead after trying to connect the aerial.
There was a slight burning smell around the aerial socket area although it was difficult to tell exactly where it was,I had the usb socket replaced but it did not cure the problem.

When I plug in the power supply now the LED's which normally light up just flash, If I do this in quick succession , every two or 3 seconds for example i get a dim flash, if i wait for 10 seconds between each plug in i seem to have a longer brighter flash, Is there a component failure which might cause this to happen?

    Which DAB radio (make/model)?

    Which 5V mini supply?

    Which powered aerial?

    We're not psychic......
