Am looking to build a mini-USB cable with an RJ-11 plug on the other
end.

Do/can anyone share with me their knowledge on building such a cable? I
need to be able to transfer/receive data through a USB device to an
analog phone device (RJ-11).

Will greatly appreciate any assistance.

I don't think there is any standard for using USB with such a connector
so you are on your own.

The device into which you plug this custom cable will still have to
support the USB protocol as either a USB device. Simply plugging it into
an analog device with an RJ-11 jack won't work.

There are some USB modems and serial to USB converters that you could
use to get from an RJ-11 telephone type interface to a host through a
USB interface. This is what it sounds like you are going to need. If so,
stick with whatever USB connectors it comes with.

You're going to need alot more than a cable to make this happen. Can you
just use a USB modem? It already has a (regular sized) USB connector on one
end and an RJ-11 connector on the other...

What are you trying to do?

If we read between your lines, it sounds like you are looking
for a traditional analog telephone modem. There should be
many of them available with USB interface. Just buy a USB
cable with the appropriate connector on each end.

If that is NOT what you are asking for, you will need to fully
describe what is at the RJ-11 end of your cable? And telling
us what you are trying to do would be extraordinarily helpful.
