I have a very basic (I hope) question.

In a simple circuit, say, battery + resistor + lamp, and the lamp needs a very specific current, does it matter if the resistor is on the anode side or the cathode side of the lamp?

    A very basic answer :)

    "No"

(And if it has an anode and a cathode then it's probably a LED, not a globe)
