Ok , just read the threads about one cr2032 not being a good replacement for 2 cr2016s . My question is.....is the a single cell replacement for the 2 cr2016s ? Thanks !

The replacement for two CR 2016's is generally two CR 2016's

One CR 2032 will be the same size, but deliver half the voltage of two stacked CR 2016 cells, and not fit if they're placed side by side.

If the two CR 2016's are placed in parallel, and there is room, a single CR 2032 is the perfect replacement.

I know there was a whole thread already regarding replacing 2 cr2016s w a single 2032, but I still have a question. Is the problem with that decreased performance of the device? Destruction of the device? Are electric devices as sensitive as electronics? I just popped a 2032 into a dog collar light that's made to run on two 2016s. It works. Is it going to glow less brightly, burn out faster, is the whole thing going to explode, or what? Also, does the fact that this thing has a flash mode make it electronic? Thanks for sharing your wisdom.

The device will have half the expected voltage (actually a little more than that, but only because of a technicality). It will probably operate like it would with very flat batteries, but the power would be sustained at this level for much longer than if they actually were 2 flat batteries.

Nothing is likely to explode. Things will likely be dimmer, or slower, or whatever happens as the batteries go flat.
