Computer Socket

Hello, two of my pentium 3 socket 370 processor dissoldered because of the excessive heat and remained inside the socket holes. Is it possible to unmount the socket mask to remove the pins ?

I'd be concerned (in no particular order)

1) has the CPU been damaged by grossly overheating it
2) have any of the solder joints under the socket been compromised
3) are any other leads just waiting to fall off.

I think a replacement CPU would be cheaper than the effort of fixing the old one (if indeed you can fix it.

A replacement will also tell you quickly if the motherboard is still OK.

Motherboard is ok, but I don't know how to phisically remove the broken leads from the socket...

There shouldn't have been an overly large amount of solder on each of those pins so I would think since it is plastic you can just take a blade of some sort (hobbyist blade maybe?) and pry the two beads out, the shafts should be straight down, and smooth so they shouldnt get stuck or anyhting, and you dont have to worry aobut scratching it up or anyhting its only a connector

I've tried to pry them out with a pliers but I couldn't remove them...
