make, model and chassis may help.

you may have to take it a local shop and get an estimate, and ask yourself
    if its worth fixing.

I have an 8 year old color TV which had beautiful vivid colors when it was
new. I've noticed in past months that the colors becoming duller and duller
(washed out). Can this phenomenon be repaired?

    It's an Emerson TC2555D
Sorry, I thought all TV models have the same common issues after so many
    years...

  4. With that one I'd say a weakening CRT.

They may be more different than ever, actually.
