You and most of the 300 million people in this country have no clue.

The IRS will grant 501(c)(4) status to organizations that are "not organized for profit but operated exclusively for the promotion of social welfare."

"Nowhere does the IRS mention 'an organization formed by top political operatives for the clear and obvious purpose of re-electing or defeating the president," says The Washington Post's Ezra Klein. "But that’s what 501(c)(4)s have become."

The 501(c)(4) has become just another scam for political operatives to manipulate and distort public opinion.

I hope you're not saying that if your on the left a 501(c)(4) is OK,
but if your on the right they are not.
If the paper work is correct, the IRS does not know if the 501(c)(4)
will breaking the rules until they break the rules and they get an audit
to show it. Doesn't matter what side you are on. So to hold up the
status and do personal audits on the applicant is wrong.
Very possible, but the IRS must operate fairly, and they didn't.

Looks like you think the IRS is somehow licensing these scams to operate, it is not. They're (not there) free to open for business immediately and canwork out the tax details later, but they held off starting up operations until they received tax exempt status from the IRS. Geez, wonder why that was...they're scams, that's why.

Wasn't the Tea Party a bunch of tax evaders ??

I remember a friend telling me that the Tea Party had evidence that
    income taxes were illegal.

It was the old tea party that promoted those ideas.

The IRS has had fights with those TP'rs for years.

Why are they heroes now ??

Not paying tax is an article of faith with the TP loons.
