Cold spray, where do you buy?

Gents,

Running low on cold spray. Digikey doesn't sell it anymore, maybe
because of shipment safety rules and regs. RadioShack is also dry.

Where can one get that stuff locally?

McMaster has both standard and antistatic.

If you're desperate for some tonight, I think they sell a freeze spray
at drug stores for freezing off skin tags...

And as muscle pain relief 9in contrast to the older muscle pain relief
method aka Fiery Jacks Deep Heat Volcanic heat spray.

Take a can of dust-off and spray it upside down :).

Thanks! Can't that trigger cancer if you freeze off skin tags?

Butane for lighters works in a pinch, in low energy circuits, in a
fume hood, with goggles and all the other precautions you'd take with
a flammable gas.. Its best to invert the container and spray the
liquid out... Makes a nice pseudo liquid nitrogen substitute.

And I still have working eyes and 10 fingers... Butane as a
cryogen was one of my favorite toys when I was a teen. Yes, I took
precautions...

Liquid co2 from a tank for pop machines is also a option but possibly
would create static,, However one small tank would be a lifetime
supply.

If you have won the lottery, there is Argon in a Joule Thompson
cooler, which is just coiled capillary tubing...

Jeorg, if you have not figured it out by now, I'm just joking...

McMaster is the easy solution, followed by Circuit Specialists.
Google MG Chemicals Inc...

Save a polar bear, feed them a politician airdropped in a old seal
skin...

I would know more and more candidates for that aerial drop :)

That's what my client does but it oozes out some nasty stuff.

I can ship you a couple of cans.

Thanks, but I'll need it tomorrow. But Spehro's hint with the stuff in
the drug store should pan out, we have a CVS and a RiteAid in town.

Incidentally, "duster" is the same as "cooler"... just invert!

But my client said that it lets off some evil gunk. Get it on the finger
and any finger food will taste horrible even if you wash.

Thanks, that is great, but I need it this afternoon and many shippers
don't seem to like to transport this stuff anymore.

What's so bad about mail order?
If you can't tolerate mail order, wtf don't you post your locale?

Nothing against mail order but I was told it won't be air-shipped. Plus
I'd have needed it this afternoon. And we do not have a local newsgroup
here. Is it so bad to ask whether one of the countrywide chains has it?

We can have fun with this.

Maybe some pet shop has some poop freeze ?
Maybe Wallyworld Got2B Glued Blasting Freeze
Maybe some wasp freeze ?
Maybe some horse Freeze-It® Spray

Yep, those are the ideas! :)

If you have a local auto-parts, and preternaturally good ventilation,
starting ether could serve in a pinch.

Or just sharpen an ice cube! ;-)

Good Luck!

Next time you want some now, take a drive down the hill to Fry's.

I coulda shipped it overnight yesterday. Too late.

Thanks, John, very kind offer. But it turns out the problem is deeper,
the whole chebang gets overnighted to the chip manufacturer on Monday.
We use Chemtronics Freez-It and some sort of duster spray. Neither
tastes or smells bad. Maybe some people are putting nasties in theirs
to discourage kids from snorting the stuff.

That's possible. As long as it isn't harmful I guess that's ok. It
certainly discourages munching on stuff while working on circuit boards ;-)

Good hint, thanks. I wouldn't buy other stuff there but I guess with
cold spray one can't go wrong.
