I just bit the bullet and subscribed (for two years), also got two Previous
years on CD for $10US. Hope it lives up to its name. Their website looks the
piece. I'd like to see CC go head-to-head with SC...

It'll be no contest. I subscribed several months ago to their on-line version for US$5.
I get pdf's of the entire issue a couple of weeks before they hit the stands.
The majority of CC contributors have got the expertise and the ability to communicate
what they're doing, and why, and the source code is often available on the CC website.
What's more, they also have contests, with MAJOR sponsors, and the contributions are
from all over the world. SC's contribution to electronic design and applications in
Australia is woeful by comparison.

I decided to go for the print version. Downloading takes to long for me.
It's all tax deductable in the end, so i dont mind paying.

I used to subscribe to Byte magazine prior to Steve Ciarcia's split with
Byte in 1988. As soon as he announced starting CCink I subscribed and have
been reading the magazine ever since. It's far and away the best magazine
for practial applications of computers.

Elektor comes close in some aspects, but Silicon Chip is nowhere near as
good. That's possibly because SC has an extremely constricted market, and
SC's focus is different.

Craig.
