    Hi George:

Considering where it looks like you're posting from, you may want to ask
this same question in the uk.teck.electronic-security group. Good luck!!

It sounds like your talking full wireless, all-in-one systems. I love
DSC, but I hate, and I mean hate, the Envoy. I have replaced numerous
Envoys that went nuts, usually in the middle of the night, and
DSC/TriEd did a horrible job replacing/repairing the systems. They
never had replacements in stock, so I almost always had to 1) buy a
new one and send the damaged one in for repairs, or 2) make the
customer wait 5-8weeks to get the repaired one back. I always chose
number 1, which is why I have several repaired Envoys collecting dust
    on my shelf.

The Simon III is great for an all-in-one, but suffers from the issue
of being damaged before signaling as others have described. You can
get around this by using remote keypads and multiple sirens, or by
simply using the Allegro which locates the phone module away from the
main panel to prevent just this sort of thing.

You could also go with a hybrid system. My personal favorite hybrid
combo is using a DSC hardwired panel such as the Power 832 (siren and
keypad wired to panel) and a ITI Quikbridge wireless receiver with ITI
wireless devices...the best of both worlds, IMHO. I know Caddx is very
good, but I have no experience with it.

    Which part is different?
So much for the alarm. :(

Hmmm, It's plastic, has an entry delay beep and if you strike it with a
hammer it might defeat it, the only difference is you don't sell the
    PowerMax....hmmm :)

Which means you do want to sell Simon 3's even tho it has all the same
potential problems as any other "all-in-one" system you like to cut down.

I am posting from Norway and we norwegians often buy directly from
    America.
The links following my signature is meant for the norwegian
conferences and I see no reason why I should remove them when posting
in this group. The UK does not have the same technical level and
compatibel pricing as in the US of A.

    Regards,

    George.

I have myself thought of the possibility that the panel might be
smashed when sounding the built in siren. Then I figured it could be
placed on the loft of my apartement, but there the temperature sinks
below zero in the wintertime, so back to start.

I think I will have to reconsider and go for either a DSC as mentioned
by you, or a Napco-Gemini as mentioned by Bass eventually a Caddx.

    Thanks again!

    George.

Why not get the Caddx first?

No need for name calling Robert, btw the PowerMax can also be used with a
remote siren and keyfob which you often fail to mention
