Forget about the used market, Has anyone started importing from China
yet? I've checked out a few web sites but don't know where to find
them. I figure they'll start coming in about 2/3 of domestic when
they start coming.

Why is that ? China they can sell them for what the Market will bear , no ?

They get more per panel in Germany and or Spain , don't have to loss money
on the devalued dollar to boot.

Face it panels cost what they cost (about 4.30 watt today's price) and
nothing is happening to make this lower

The US dollar will continue to decline relative to other currency's , other
countries are increasing there demand and programs , the raw Silicon is in
Shortage for the foreseeable future.

Its not that Solar panels are expensive , it that we have become addicted to
cheap energy. Solar won't come down in price, the other forms of energy will
go up to show the true value in Solar , all of course is IHMO

Solar panels are expensive because of the market experienced by the dealers.
No product will survive with a pyrimid marketting scheme moving it. When the
panels are sold third hand the price will drop to about half or maybe less.
It is the foreign distributors, exporters, importers, importing agents,
distributors, warehousers and dealers that consume most of the money.

Can you say "exclusive rights"?

The China price cannot be compared to western prices production costs are
low a fraction of say the USA. but it is in the hands of the middlemen
that the price shoots up, and import taxes, middlemen tend to be greedy,
and make large fortunes out of poor people, take a radio is made for
pennies in China imported at low cost, will cost £10 to £20. I have
imported from Hongkong, a container holds a great deal, and can cost as
little as £1000 to ship to the west. unscruplous dealers shove up the
prices retire in a year or two merchants.

I have been selling Suntech solar panels made in China and never had any
issures or problems.
Looking at a Suntech or BP or Kyocera solar panel side by side difficult to
tell any difference.
Biggest issue is getting stock as nearly every shipment in the larger sizes
is sold out prior to arrival.

Hi Solar Guppy,

Just wanted to say that it's nice to hear, now and then, someone mention
that "Its not that Solar panels are expensive , it that we have become
addicted to cheap energy."

It is so hard to get the message through!!

Thanks for making my day a little bit brighter.

"Cheap" and "expensive" are relative terms and only based on our
comparisons.

...as are 'dumb' and 'dumber', but then I've only compared your posts against
your posts.
