    Hi there!

I'm troubleshooting a servo drive and found a resistor that looks open to me. However, I have a doubt as to whether this resistor is either a IMG-20190912-WA0005.jpg 2 ohms, or 2.5 ohms. Please see picture.

Is the letter K a tolerance designator? Or is it 5K?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Does it likely have 100V+ across it? If not, 2.5K 20W would make no sense.

No, it doesn't have anything more than what is shown in picture.

The printed legend on the resistor I have here faded away due to overheating. The pictures I got came from a person in China who was kind enough to take several pictures of it from an identical servo drive.

According to me it looks like a 10W resistor, and now what you just said added to the confusion, LOL!

If anybody there can shed some light it will be appreciated.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Yill!

Thanks you so much! It has to be something that low.

Thanks again and have a great day!
