My nokia 3100 has got this problem. It seems that the screen does not make
contact. The screen makes stripes like a garage door and sometimes it goes
out completely.

Also, recently the phone stopped ringing or vibrating. Like its on silent
all the time.

Please help.

I have fixed 5110's and 3330's before but this is more advanced technology.
Don't know what to do.

Some of the connectors, or contact assemblies may be intermittent. If the
phone has been dropped, this may be some breaks on the board. You can try to
service it, but being a modern phone it is using very high density
construction, with a multi layered board. The service people will usually
change the complete board.

If you open the phone and work on the boards, the phone may need to have the
set-up software re-initialized.

Did you call your telephone service? These phones are very low in cost
these days. Most companies are giving these away, if you sign a 1 or 2 year
service contract.

Call Nokia and ask if they have an exchange programme for this model. The
display or interface is probably damaged.
