I just retired a Samsung 3500 cell phone (Sprint) for a new Sanyo SCP-4600 (Sprint). I'd like to avoid paying more for a new desktop charging holster and car charger than I did for the entire phone plus wall outlet charger ($29.95). The batteries for the old/new phones are different size, but the voltages are the same. Both phones charge fully in about 3-4 hours. Shouldn't I be able to make a suitable socket adapter -- connecting to the two metal contacts at the bottom of the battery -- then connect to my older chargers? If there are cautions and formulas to consider, can someone suggest those? And I wonder if it is time to just *buy* one of those microprocessor controlled universal chargers, with the adjustable contacts that can mate with any battery. Any experience with those? Thanks.
