This isn't exactly a 'normal' electronic question, but here goes anyway. I have an
AOpen CD drive that is 6 months old and CDs in it cannot be detected. It asks to
insert a CD even when one is there. I replaced it with another drive, but is there
any hope of resurrecting the defective one?

Since new ones are $10 after rebates, I don't think it's worth your time ;-)
