My CD player shows "NO DISC" message when I try to play a CD. I have tried
the single CD slot and a number of other slots but still get the same
    message.
It is a Pioneer PD-F 1007 which holds 301 CDs.
CD will load into the player mechanism but does not play.
Nothing in the manual on this - am I into big bucks here or is there an
obvious function I need to check (or have checked)?
    Any ideas??

  2. Assuming it gets to the playback mechanism with the optical pickup, may
be as simple as a dirty lens. See the CD player repair guide at the site
    below.
