    Hi,

I' trying to find an Epcos capacitor, 1950 µF, 400 V.
Found a shop that has them, they're around 80 USD. Any idea where to buy them cheaper ?

    Thanks,

    Jack

Sounds about right. Any cheap replacement obviously will not last.

A cheaper option may be to connect several 400V 200uF caps in parallel. (10 would give 2000uF which is close enough).

They're will probably be mounting issues and it may require messy wiring.

And without the specs for that cap, there may be a need to select something better than a random 400V cap.

Is this for a xenon flash unit? Caps used in then ARE special.

It's for Multiblitz Profilux 400 flash head. Not much room in there... Alternatively I could replace it with 1500 or 1000 uF, but would have a decrease power.
I thought there might be some online factory shop where they sell them at 1/3 of their market value. It's probably made in China...
