Definately the wrong NG i know, but at least I can get a sensible answer
hear without needing to know MS down to kernal level.

I have finally started playing with VB7 and a little c# too. Just need to
know how to call the afformentioned function found in the windows API, if at
all posible. Much googling says not possible, but the ol' .net seems vastly
different.

Best Regards:

I'm rusty, but I would have thought you'd have to call a C routine which
played with CoInitializeSecurity.

It seems that is the only way. I am not to familiar with the workings of
..net yet but I do know that in VB6 that the VBRun time has usually called
that particular function before you can in your code.

Its a damn shame really, I can throw together quick test apps in VB a lot
quicker than I can in C++. I guess I may just have to give VB the arse.
