Buy test gear in Asia

I want to buy a Tek or Rigol LCD oscilloscope.

I will be soon flying overseas and have a choice of stop-over in Asia.

What are the prospects for purchasing this type of test gear in
Bangkok, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur.

Could anyone with specific knowledge, please provide names of suitable
outlets.

I realize the warranty may not be serviced in my home country.

Yes please,

You think a Tek is going to be cheaper in Asia? You might have a lot
of problems, more serious than not having a warranty by not clearing
customs if that is in your bag...I had a friend who was in Saudi Arabia
leaving to go home and he had a Grudig shortwave receiver in his bag.
The customs inspector opened his bag in front of him, saw the radio and
said, "Tranceiver!" and 3 teenaged guards with pointed HK-91s in his
face kept his rebuttal brief. He was led away and put in prison for
several days until the US consul saw him and said, just sign the thing
and say it's a transceiver and they will let you go and he was deported
and told never to go back. Something to think about in places like
Bangkok.
