Bulk netname changes

A coworker needs to update an Orcad schematic to change the net names
on hundreds of signals to FPGAs. He is looking for a way to do this in
an external tool (like an editor) by exporting the net list and then
updating the schematic with the revised net list. I could not tell him
how to do this, but it seems like something that should be a standard
procedure. Anyone know how to do this?

It's possible with a back-annotation.

Before doing that, do a complete backup, of course.

It's a long time since I did that, but I did do just what you need by
generating the appropriate file for a back annotation (as if it had been
done in the layout tool).

The file format is specified somewhere in the documentation (and I am
aware of the issue of finding such things in anything Cadence).
