I have a 4 slice hobart commercial toaster that toasts in all 4 slots, but the left 2 will not pop-up. Any ideas what the problem is?

Well unless someone knows exactly how that circuit in your toaster works, we gonna need more information. Possibly a few pics of the components so we can get an idea on how it is supposed to work.

Hell it might not even be electrical, there is a mechanic features in the toaster that could just as easily break.

it might be as simple as something blocking the release from releasing..... as olive said look at both sides and try to figure out why one side works and the other doesnt

Do your checking with the power off. You could hook a 1.5 volt battery across the line input connections when the toaster is unplugged and use a digital multimeter to trace what's going on. But it's easier to just use the resistance measurements.
