Do you often step, barefoot, on rakes in the yard too?

No I don't as it happens. The statistic stands though and is clearly understood in
other countries too since modern thinking is that power plugs for domestic equipment
should be 'flat' so if left on the floor will not present the pins upwards.

I've heard that the greatest risk to humans from domestic electrical equipment
in the UK is standing on upturned plugs. It hurts.

I would have suspected it was sticking fingers in a live toaster.[/QUOTE]

You idiot! You don't stick your fingers into a toaster! Those orange
things on the inside are really really hot!

You're supposed to use a table knife. ;-p

Cheers!

I suppose you think rakes should be "flat" too?

I use a fork. I like Thomas' English muffins, but when they toast
they shrink so much they fall back inside the toaster when the
pop-up thing triggers. I tried catching them with a thumb and
forefinger since they initially shoot up about 1/2" to 3/4" when the
pop-up thing triggers, but they're way too hot to hold on to. Then
I tried spearing them but that didn't work too well either so now I
insert a fork downward into the hill-and-valley side. Works
perfect, every time! ;)

No.

Have you any more bright ideas you'd like to share ?

You don't get away with humor either. ...or is the dumb donkey your
idea of humor?

They did invent Monty Python. But then, they also invented "Are You
Being Served?" and Mr Bean. Sounds like a wash to me.

One would think that if one is barefoot, one's reflexes would retract
one's foot well before the rake handle hits one in the face.

You don't like "Are You Being Served?"? Are you mad?

You _do_ grasp the concepts of "parody" and "caricature", don't you?

Thanks,
Rich

How about "Benny Hill"? Like they say about blind pigs and acorns?

If the one is a dumb donkey, don't count on it. It never works that
way in the other cartoons.

Human reflexes aren't actually especially fast.

I do sadly find the references to Mrs Slocombe's pussy a bit tedious these days.
I probably thought it was a bit tacky at the time too actually.

But they have "The Office" and "Extras" on the plus side again.

Human reflexes aren't actually especially fast.

Probably faster than a rake handle being levered up by a bare foot against
its tines.

Reflexes are "designed" to minimize your injury when you do something
stupid - then again, with enough alcohol, they can get so slow that you
could actually fall down under your own power. ;-)

Cheers!

I like the subtlety, in that she has no idea of her own double-entendre(sp?).

Cheers!
