I am working on a project and am trying to find a brighter LED.
    Any recommendations?

The MCD for the current LEDs I am using is between 16,000 and 20,000.

Let's say that the power supply is between 3.7V/350mah and 12V/1.5A

That seemed to be about making a light bar. My project is much smaller and the entire circuit has like 5 LEDs total. Unless I missed something in that article.

    Well, all you said was
    I found a 50,000 mcd.
If you want to start again and explain what project, what kind of leds you are using now, what power source etc etc.
    Maybe someone will help you.
BTW, the tie and helmet don't go!! one or the other!!

I did see that! I was thinking that the article would be something else, my bad.
The project is to illuminate a bottle of water. It works fine, I just wanted it brighter.
Is 50k mcd that much brighter? Did you ever get to try it?
The tie and helmet works for me!

Sorry, I have never tried it. I do have a 3000,000 candle power torch though.
Glad to see you have a good sense of humour too.

    I prefer black visors personally.

Can you double up on the leds you have now?
Or use a reflective base to enhance the light.
Use less food colouring in the water.
Their are millions of options open to you.

Well the current prototypes I have been working with have been plain water. I have tried doubling up, but had a function issue; which I am scheduled to retry tonight.
What kind of reflective base comes to mind? Anything at home I can use? I thought about tin foil, but am open to suggestions.

Yes, tin foil or a single foil pudding dish......Yorkshire pudding, Pie dish etc.
    Function issues doubling up?
You will have to calculate the resistor values and the source voltage too.

The functionality issue was stemming from a possible short in the wiring. The power specs are fine. I'll have to look into it more tonight; I've been focused on working with the single LED design recently.
