My friend has a Bose wave radio and the left speaker recently started making a static noise, it also is really quiet for one moment and then the speaker will get really loud out of nowhere even if the volume is at zero. He tried just having the right speaker plugged in but then it started making the same noise Does anyone know how to fix this?

Sir Caleb man . . . . .

Why 'soitanly . . . MULTITUDES . . . . here should likely be able to handle that.

You need ALL of the model info for us to precisely identify the SPECIFIC unit . . the cryptic " FORD / Bose" just doesn't cut it in this situation.
( Nor would it . . . .to a Ford parts counter guy. . . . trying to identify a specific left handed thread giggly pin for a Stromberger carburetor )

Now which of you two would be the most qualified in your techno expertise AND having any /some electro analysis equipment.
Or will you be teamed and working as a dynamic duo . . . .?
Intial suspicion is for the problem going to be heat flex and time related floating solder connections at the pins of a multi pinned, plastic potted, dual channel power AF output module .
Sometimes having the unit dis assembled and playing and doing a moderate tappa-tappa-tappa . . . . in 6 different physical planes . . . . to that module . . . . can aggravate that situation and make that condition show up or vary.
The other situation is the unit being bad internally and needing its replacement.
