I bought a used Bose AWRCC1 recently. The radio worked fine but the dvd didn't read anything. I tried air and a cleaning cd. No help. I opened the radio and cleaned out the inside the best I could without damaging any electronic parts.

I had fallen with the unit a few days previously and when I opened it to clean it this piece is broken in half. What does this do and will it still play with this broken?

Thanks for your help.

Your photo attachment . . . .didn't make the trip
Why do I have this weird feeling, that it is going to be the inside AM ferrite rod antenna ?

That's what I thought but wasn't sure. Could I use an external antenna in it's place?

Memaw9f . . . . .

You never gave a photo . . .to date . . . . but if the unit fell flat on its face onto the floor, from a distance, the YELLOW boxed marked ferrite rod antenna could have broken near its center . That would only affect AM radio reception, FM would be normal.
Is that what was damaged on your units drop ? If so, there is hope..

Yes thank you for your help and information. That is what broke. I tried to add a photo but didn't do something correctly.
