My beloved wave radio has started to fail after 5 years of use. I am fairly determined to fix it, as it works fine other than a hum on the left channel only. Even if the volume is 0, the hum continues no matter what function is set. Does anyone know of a source for schematics?

Thanks in advance,

Sean

Start checking from Audio Amplifier IC

Hi,
I am also repairing my own Bose. As for hum and no sound. I think you can try this.

If you turn on your Bose and no sound then we know troubleshooting should start from Audio amplifier IC. This IC have heatsink screw on it. if you want to know if the Audio Amp really no output, select Aux and put input into the AUX jacks. If still no output it means no output from Audio Amp IC. This Bose Wave radio have Audio amp directly driving both speakers.

The next step is to open up and check for voltage to the Audio Amp. Careful..!

I bought a Bose AWRC-1G and the display didn't light up. Opened case and the cable going to the keyboard disconnected. How to I A) get the cover off the keyboard to get access to the connector? or B) shove the cable back into the connector? Thanks.
