First post here and I'm hoping you can help me with something.

I'm working on a small diesel engine from the 70's which uses a Bosh Relay as the starter solenoid. The one I currently have is fried. I've been searching high and low for the same part, but I can't seem to find it.

The part I need is this:
Bosch 0 332 002 155
http://rb-aa.bosch.com/boaarocs/ind...0F6AC84427FDF.sundoro2?ccat_id=33&prod_id=842

But I can only find this part:
Bosh 0 332 002 156
http://rb-aa.bosch.com/boaarocs/ind...0F6AC84427FDF.sundoro2?ccat_id=33&prod_id=114

My question is this: Can I use the ...156 in place of the ...155 part? There are a few differences (ie, resistive load, response release voltage, etc.), but how will this effect the system?

Here is some back history to my situation:http://www.oldmarineengine.com/discus/messages/5/132669.html

Thanks a ton for the help. Great site by the way.

Hi,

The 155 one short time current max load is better 400 Amps in place of 250 for the 156 model (other spec does't matter). So it's all depend on the original part specifications!
