My dad had this drill a year ago and has used it a lot for all sorts.

He's broken it and I think he did it by trying to drive screws into something and the drill not having enough torque to drive screws all the way in but he persisted and its stopped working.

I've pulled the drill apart, the battery is fine, I've tested it with multimeter and directly wired it to the motor and the motor burst to life so I guess he's fried something on circuit board.

This is as far as my knowledge can go, I don't understand circuit boards and how triggers work and what resistors do etc etc.

I have some photos so if anyone can kindly tell me what to check I will get to it

If any more photos are needed let me know.

What do I need to check or read with multi meter to find my fault

Thanks in advance hope you guys can help me

That transistor (top left on last image) looks to have an unusual mark on it.

Can you read the part numbers on those devices?

I will see if I can make out part numbers.

Looks like there is a hole and burns around the top left semi-conductor ,sign of damaged component

I can't make any numbers out as the top has a blister hole and makes it a bit awkward to read.

Where do I go from here chaps

Read the other one and see if what you *can* make out from the broken one is similar.
