I've a VCR with 2 of these pesky DIP-pinned small daughter board thingies
with an intermittent fault on each.
One causes it to kill colour and the other to corrupt the tape drive so
judders and then goes into protection stop.
Problem is cured in each by pushing on the largest SM IC on each board.
Instead of a rubber foot on each IC bound totallly around each ceramic board
with cable ties does anyone know how to remove the paint or cure the problem
    in a more professional manner.
Also what causes the problem ? , some thermal imbalance between expansion
    coefficients
of epoxy and ceramic causing SM pins to lift or what ?
