does anybody know if a Willem eprom universal programmer will program bipolar proms like harris 7621 or 82s131 types.
I am very new to this and would like something simple to use for programing bipolar proms for old ham radios.
I have an older style computer that can work with windows and dos. If anybody remember 386's and 486 computer, I know this is old old stuff but it still works good for radio use.
thanks for any help you can give me other than junking this stuff

    Hi,

No the Willem programmer can't handle the bipolar proms.

Arlabs guys made bipolar prom programmers:
    http://www.arlabs.com/device.htm#BIPOLAR PROMS

You can also go for the modern (re-programmable)equivalent of the prom:

    http://be.mouser.com/Semiconductors...-Programmable-Logic-Devices/_/N-3ohbe?FS=True

and bought the corresponding programmer (can be usable for one brand only!)

Also check the fanout capabilities of those more recent parts.

In some case eeprom (27c16,32,64...)can also be used

    regards,

    Olivier
