I have problems reading the text on a GPS display without glasses (which I
dont wear for driving). Anyone know if there's such a thing as an add on
display with larger text for these kinds of situations ?

A PC with suitable software could give you voice prompts.

Some form of magnifying system over the top opf the screen should work .. I
believe the original gameboy had an optional accessory that did just this ..

There are no external displays on their own.
You could hook the GPS up to a notebook or Palm/Pocket PC and use it
that way, but that's messy, especially if you want to use it portable.
Not all GPS software gives you a big display though, so application
choice might be limited.
The Garmin ForeTrex wrist mount GPSr has a large screen display option
for the trip computer. You can choose to display any trip computer
option as full screen. i.e. lat/long or UTM co-ords, time, distance to
go, average speed etc.
Actually, you have the choice of displaying 1,2,3 and 4 different
options on the screen at once, and they are all customisable. The size
of the font scales to fill the screen in each case. I'm not aware of
any other GPSr that has this kind of large font option.

Dave :)

Many thanks for your replies. Most informative and helpful. Kinda hard to
keep my eyes on the track and squint at the GPS etc at the same time :)))
Cheers
