Best glass break detector

I do not use glass break detectors very often, and have not for about a
year now. Need to install about 10 in a new office building (all
ceiling mounted in offices). In your opinion(s) what brand and model
could you recommend for this job? Also, I need a good quality audio
detector for a 15'x15' file room. Do not want to go as far as a
"Potter" unit, but would like you input here too. Thank you. Robert

I use IEI 550LS or Intellisense FG-730's. IEIs are more expensive..I have
hundreds of them out there (some guys don't like them but I've not had
problems with them), recently I've been using the 730's which are cheaper,
and have not had problems with them either.

The IEI's have setting for type of glass and a few other features I like.
The 730 only has a sensitivity dial inside, generally I use these for
residential.

What kind of glass?? What are the window treatments?? What kind of floor
covering (carpet, hardwood, tile) or is it just bare concrete?? How high
are the ceilings?? What kind of ceiling (T-Bar, Sheet rock)?

Years ago I had major problems with IEI and stopped using them. Other
dealers who use them today say the new models are good and I don't dispute
that. I've installed thousands of IntelliSense (now part of Honeywell)
glass breaks over the years and have had excellent results with them. They
have a relatively new model which you might like for ceiling installations.
It's called an FG-1625RFM. The unit is extremely compact. It fits in a
small hole in the sheetrock. The part that shows is about the size of a
silver dollar -- a major help with WAF on residential installations. :^)
Also, I need a good quality audio detector for

That's one area in which I've no experience so I'll defer to others.

Thanks to all for your help . . . looks like I will go with the

Caddx 2000 is excellent. Same price range as the FG730's but better case.
It's round, we don't have to spend a lot of time getting them parallel with
the walls and ceiling. I use 5 to 20 in almost every home we do. Have
virtually no false alarms from them.

Allan

He did... He wanted to avoid he issue of "current" installation experience
(of which he has none).

I said I would defer to folks with experience on audio sensors. That does
not include you.
