Surely there must be *some* restrictions!

Some little details, sure. For instance, no guns in the state-
house, courts, schools, unless provided for by same (e.g. schools
can have shooting clubs; though given the NEA - fat chance). Gun
possession proscribed only for minors, felons, and other
*individuals* who the courts have decided cannot own firearms
(there is some iffy constitutional ground here).

Carrying a loaded rifle in your car isn't cool (jacking deer is
most un-cool), however carrying a loaded handgun on your person
is perfectly fine, though many prefer not to see it. Indeed
there aren't any permits required, and none offered for handguns.
Any person of the age of majority (baring the felon issue) can
legally buy, and carry a handgun, either concealed or in plain
sight. At worst, buying a handgun amounts to filling out the
federal paperwork, paying the money, and waiting five minutes for
the background check (I've done it in less than five minutes).

Even visitors to the state are allowed the freedom of the second
amendment. Indeed many NewYawkus go out of their way to go
around Taxa2shits from NY, through VT, to NH for sporting events,
so they don't end up in jail for carrying a bunch of metal (even
dismantled weapons).

Possibly. I certainly read from your post that the hs-can was the fuel source
AND that its discharge was ignited in real time.

Fuel source, yes. Ignited real-time, no. Squirt it in the
touch-hole and then touch the igniter to it.
Ah, but the flame adds that extra dimension - and ironically is probably more
humane.

It makes a mess of the living room though. I really don't give
two craps about the humane treatment of hornets that have invaded
my living space. ...or even those that haven't, for that matter.
Hairspray is only the storm before the calm (boot-leather)
anyway. Outside I carry wasp spray. I have no mercy on hornets.
Wasps and I get along, sorta.

So, you go to one of those "white goods spare parts stores" where in all
likelyhood there will be an abundance of replacement gas igniters of all
kinds - as long as you can figure out which part number it is. They are
cheap.

What's wrong with piezo B.T.W?: It's for a potato gun rite - and you need
trigger to pull anyway.

Touch-hole. ...call it a cannon. ;-)

Can you define "explode".
Are we talking about the can ripping open, or the valve/spray assmebly
failing and simply letting it burn more rapidly without the can losing
integrity.

I recall both modes appearing. But it WAS a while back - the terms 'teenager'
hasn't been applied to me in 40 years ;-)

Amazing! So are there any other states left where the old freedoms are
preserved to the same (or even greater) extent? I always thought Texas
had the most relaxed gun control laws, but maybe Vermont has. Do you
happen to know?

Vermont is far less restrictive than Texas. Texans are even welcome
with their firearms in Vermont. ;-)

I understand that Alaska has recently changed their laws to something
that resembles Vermont's (except that they have a voluntary permit for
use in other states.

So they can fire into the air after getting their same-sex "civil
union"? ;-)

I did say: "Vermont is far less restrictive than Texas." ;-)

Yes, the wonders of judicial legislation (or more accurately, court
ordered legislation). :-(

Well it's refreshing to hear that at least some states are trying to
stick to the spirit of the good old Constitution.

Thanks, I'll take a look.
