I am trying to check out estimated battery life for a device using a
MN1604 Duracell alkaline 9V battery.

I understand the capacity is 550mA, but to what voltage level is
implied if this capacity is comsumed?

I can find no info on the duracell website....even the capacity I got
from elsewhere on the web.

Battery capacity is rated in mA hours (some number of mA supplied for
some number of hours). An arbitrary lower voltage limit must be
specified before detailed comparisons can be made.

Take a look at this web page:

It also depends on the load current and the temperature.

The only way to determine the true capacity of a battery is to drain
one under your particular application and measure it.
