I want to build a small all cap booster for the car battery.Like the Maxwell start module but small. Most people seem to use the 3000 farad maxwell caps but they have gotten too expensive. But Digikey has smaller Maxwell caps maybe half that size.10 bucks a piece. I would need 6 to get 15 volts.
2 questions...would I just run the starter cable to the hot on the cap and ground the neg on the frame ??
I need those balancing tabs but have only seen cheap unreliable china stuff on ebay. Is it hard to build my own balancing circuits for the caps???

Link?

They may have a limitations on output current that make them unsuitable.

there are many homemade ones in use. What other companies besides Maxwell make good quality
ultra caps??? I see digikey has the balancing circuits all in one with the metal plate joiners for about 10 bucks each. those balancing circuits are important for longevity. Can you believe what a ripoff
battery makers have become?? 100 bucks for a lowgrade crappy lead acid battery that might not last 3 years.Optima batteries now at 250$. I wouldnt pay more than 80 for one.
