I went to Mouser.com and Spark Fun.com looking for "D" Cell BAT. Holders.

I found a lot of them but I need it to Hold the BATs in a Row.

    Like a FlashLight.

    Can you help me?

Our just get a single D cell holder, remove the contacts from the end and mount them at the ends of a suitable length tube.

I use yet another method for charging my D size nimh cells. I place a disc shaped rare earth magnet between the cells which holds them together, and on the ends of the pack to hold the alligator clips.

The method you use also depends on how permanent the arrangement is.

What chemistry are the Bats? Many D size Ni-Cad and Ni-MH rechargeable Bats have a little AA or C cell inside because nobody uses D size Bats anymore.

Does it matter? My 6000mAh batteries are real D cells.

And yes, there are many people who use D cells. Maybe not as many as there once were, but not "nobody".

You forgot to say the chemistry of your battery D cells (antique carbon-zinc?) and if they are new or have been sitting on a store shelf for 10 years. I use Energizer Name-Brand AA size alkaline cells. They are stamped "best before 12-2026" and are guaranteed for 10 years so they were made this year.

An Energizer D size alkaline cell is rated at 18000mAh at 25mA or 9000mAh at 500mA. Their shelf life is 10 years.

    Mine are NiMH.

A colleague of mine occasionally collects very lightly used energizer industrial D cells used in a medical appliance for the duration of a single operation. The hospital is a large consumer of them.
